It's cheap and thought it would be good to try at the start. 5x4 and 2 1/4x3 1/4. Anyone used it?

I did use 120 roll film, it is rebagged Fomapan, you can't get better film even for 2x.

Its pretty much all the film I use, in 120 and 35mm

The ISO 100 stuff seems OK.

Whatever is wrong with my shots seem to have everything to do with me, not the film.

Great film for starting out and does not seem to scratch very easily.

Sample

I'd heard that somewhere before about it being rebadged Fomo.It is a little cheaper though. I was looking at Adox and Efke but I'd heard they scratched easy!

Arista is good, rebadged Foma as Attila says.

EFKE 50 is very good, if you see that cheap, I recommend it.

I haven't tried arista yet. Efke and adox are the same stuff now. I love efke, though, and have not had scratching issues. I do find efke to be more difficult than other films to load into spools.

I thought Adox was still made in the same factory in Germany and Efke was made in the Chech Rebublic.

Efke was never made in the Czech Republic but in Croatia. It's the same thing as original Adox, just branded under a different name (Adox was sold to DuPont in the 1960's which then licenced the technology to Fotokemika who produced and sold their films under the Efke name). Ironically today all Adox films are actually made by the company that produced Efke and are just labeled Adox. On the boxes of Adox films that I've bought recently it says "made in Croatia".

Btw, Adox is nice. I've only tried CHS 25 Art in 35mm so far and I like it. Best results are with stand development (Adonal diluted to 1:100, no agitation for 60 minutes). You get zero grain, good sharpness, a lot of dynamic range and low contrast. If you scan and digitally process the negatives you can give it as much contrast and sharpening as you want during scanning/post. But it is quite difficult to work with. The base is thin and likes to curl more than most other films.

EDIT: Actually, I just found out the Fotokemika factory stopped production and was closed down just last week. I don't know who will now produce Adox films if anyone at all. Either way Efke seems to be gone for good. Sad

OOOH! Did not like to hear that last. Our options are getting fewer all the time now.
