I realize Kiev 19 mount is same as Nikon. But is it AI or pre AI only? Can I use the lenses on a D300? Thanks.

I just acquired one with an 81N Helios lens and it is Ai mount, working safely on my D90.

I haven't used it much yet, since I got it only like a week ago.

From the few samples I can say it's sharper wide open and more contrasty than my 44M-4. It is also very small indeed and focusing is quite easy for me the amateur despite the focusing ring being so small.
