Does anyone knows the material used to cement lens together ?
I've got a damaged lens on which I'd like to experiment..

Never used it but I've read that canada balsam is a good option

Canada Balsam is the dement used in older lenses.
But work with this is not easy, on my DIY Directory are some links to recemmenting.
I tried with a Rodagon 80/4, but results are not very good - but it seems that it gets a bit better with time - need to test it.
For my next try I think about buying optical adhesives from Norland or Summers Optical.
Problem there is sometimes short shelf life of the substance before using.
