Vivitar 70-210/3.5 with a Raynox-250 attachment, gets me around 2:1 magnification, I must have been close to that here because there's no crop.
Breezy and overcast (read dark) so not ideal conditions, shot at f8 with ISO400 only giving me 1/125 sec. Lucky to get anything with such a shallow DOF, next time I'll wait for the sun or use a flash.
Still, quite pleased really. Smile

Very nice. Personally, I'd be quite chuffed with that! K.

I'm delighted with it really Kris, but I find this harder than shooting birds in flight. My keeper rate is much higher with BIF but I guess I just need more light.

Well I've never managed a decent picture of a bird in flight. My wife teases me that I specialize in animal a***s leaving the frame...

Cheers, Kris.

LMAO Laughing I got a load of bee a***s today!

Actually they might not have belonged to bees, I've just been informed that this beastie is a Hoverfly. Surprised

Well I did make a few attempts today but I found that hawks and falcons are an awful lot easier!
I tried using a monopod at first but found it was restricting me more than helping me, so everything else was hand-held including this shot. My left forearm is still aching now Rolling Eyes

Wonderful picture, and shows what a talented photographer can achieve with alt gear. I bought the Raynox 150 for my girlfriend, it should work well with the Tamron AF 55-200 at the 200mm setting. I thought that the Raynox 250 would be too radical, but obviously it works very well.
