Where did you go, fungus?

Some time ago I bought a super takumar 2/35 (older version with 67mm filter) with little traces of fungus on one of the inner elements.

It didn't affect images in a way that I could see (even because it's on the outmost part of the element), so I stored it in a transparent plastic box under a window, with controlled humidity, waiting for a moment to open and clean it.
Today i took it out of the box, and the fungus has become almost invisible. It is spread more or less as it was before, but the "white threads" (don't know how to call them) of which it is made, have become much thinner and transparent, and it's almost invisible.

Does anyone have any kind of similar experience? Is it possible that it actually diminished, or am I just having hallucinations?

You storage was properly, fungus can't go in this condition, but not go away either. May if light was strong like direct sunlight, that could cure it.

Ok, thanks. I'm cleaning it anyway, as soon as I manage to unscrew that damn name plate ring.

Fungus can back once storage condition bad again, your lens is not require cleaning. Once you clean you will wipe off coating successfully too and risk lens safety too. clean only if necessary.

Ok then if I store it correctly (in a dry place with light, no caps on, as little dust as possible), and the fungus at the present state is not giving me any problems, I won't need cleaning it, because as long as it's stored correctly fungus won't spread?
