Nice to see you were busy `working' from home! Laughing Shouldn't this be in the `user pics' thread! Laughing

Nice image. Do you remember the aperture? Snowman is sharp and the bokeh from the trees is quite pleasant.

very cool! i see you are loving your planar! i got mine a couple of weeks ago; just received the adapter to canon 5d, but the darndest thing is happening: when i attach lens to adapter i can stop down apertures perfectly; when i attach rig to camera the aperture opens and will not stop down (though ring turns freely, blades dont close)

ive contacted the HK seller and all he has done is offer my money back, which doesnt solve my dilema. i assume you have the same contax>ef adapter--have you had any problems like this? would you mind telling me where you got the adapter from that i might purchase same?
thanks, and sorry for going off topic!

Oops, you are correct - wrong forum Laughing Feel free to move it anyone Smile

Um, I took this one at f4 I think, although I took a load at f2.8 which are equally sharp. I find the Planar is ultra sharp from f2.8 onwards generally.

And Tony, I got my adapter from Jinfinance on ebay, they generally cost a little more but always reach infinity (and beyond!) and I've never had an issue with them. If you ask for it at checkout, you get the programmable chip version which allows you to fine tune the AF confirm and set the lens focal length and aperture to whatever you desire.

thanks graham, will do!

there's no trick to this i dont know about is there: i mean you just screw the adapter onto the lens, then rotate it into the camera mount, right?

Orio had a similar issue, I think it was from a bad adapter

Tony - Has your adapter got a stopdown flange or AF chip? I've some very simple ones from Fotodiox that have neither and they always work on problem lenses.
