Finally received it from Germany (the body, I already had the lens). Don't know if it works, it should although. Leathers stick to your finger and plastic top casing is like eggshell but I don't care.

How long is it appropriate just to fiddle it without turning it on and putting a film in it? Smile

Congrats! 'shame' series made by Yashica mine looking also quiet garbage , but works well. I think yours will work too.

The leather (not real leather surely) on these seems to always go bad.
First thing I would do is re-cover it.

The top is plastic ?

Yes, I just have to decide the fabric. Some sort of wove fabri could be nice?

I'm not sure about the structure of the top. Looks like brass. It's so worn I have to fix it somehow but don't think that is a serious problem?

You can remove all black paint too Very Happy :

But part of the brass has gone too partially. I see the white part under it. It can't cause light leak I think but if it wears more I can see the electronics inside. Smile

Thats aluminum then.
Put a piece of leather behind the rings to stop more wear.
