Contax AX sound

I've just gotten a Contax AX.

All fun and joy especially the lenses.

It's a big camera but it operates very nicely.

Also it's relatively quiet.
All the more wonder then when I trip the shutter there's a twang at the end which sounds a bit like steel ringing.
Not very loud but noticeable with the camera to my eye.

Any Ax owners out there that care to tell me if this is normal?

great camera, imo one of the best ever slr's and an engineering marvel. i dont recall any metallic sound with the shutter, you may want to have that checked.

Thanks for replying.

Think I will have it looked at.
The vendor has a new repair man so I might have him look at it before sending it off to Japan.

I mentioned this to my my brother,who repairs chronographs for a living, and he says it might just be a spring resonating.
It does sound like it and is an easy fix according to him.

I'll wait and see what the repair guy has to say.

i'm more or less becoming convinced it's normal.

Most camera's I own have it even though I have to put my ear to the cam to hear it.
With the AX it's much louder, so it's more obvious.
The camera's with a cloth shutter sound different so I'm assuming it's a trait of the metal shutter used.

I' m still having it checked though.

It does seem to have been serviced recently.
All seals are perfect, even aligned perfectly.
No mirror slip.

The only other thing bothering me is the texture of the rubber covering.
It shows up my noseprints much too easily.( I'm a left eyed shooter.

It'let you all know what the tech says.
And also let you know if he undertakes more complicated repairs.
