I got one of these from ebay. It was described as having no fungus or haze. Unfortunately it appears to have both?

(I can't post links or pictures... probably cos I'm newly registered)

I assume the spot under Ultron is fungus? What is the rest of the hazy looking stuff? Would it be worth attempting a self clean or is it just more trouble than it's worth? I got a pretty good deal (80 USD) for a nice lens but not so sure in it's current condition?

The lens is great and well worth cleaning: mine has huge cleaning marks on the front element where coating has disappeared, and still performs very well.

Well the eBay seller has apologised and said they'll refund it.

I already have a nice set of adapted lenses in this focal length with clear glass (FD 50 1.4, Voigtlander Nokton 50 1.1, Contax G 45 2.0) so I'm thinking I'll just send it back... but a part of me would like to have a go at cleaning it up :-/

Why you don't just try to shoot with it some pictutes?
Let's see how bad the fungus is in the pictures.
