SF's Public Utilities Commission (PUC)'s new building just completed. It's going to be a LEED Platinum facility with a number of innovative design ideas, such as windmills on the exterior that power part of the building. As an added bonus, it looks great.

This building doesn't have many easy angles to photography from. One wall faces a narrow alley and one wall a McDonald's and overhead power lines. However, across the street one of the buildings has a slightly raised plaza which made for an acceptable vantage point. Here you can see the windmills on the side. The wall design channels wind into the windmills, increasing the turbine speed.

Here's the other side. I edited out the power lines.

It's a nice looking building and will make a nice addition to the Civic Center neighborhood.

Interesting building, you should do some interiors when you get the chance.

That's gonna be a hard task. I'm not sure if it'll be a public structure. Sad
