i had the nokton 35/1.4 sc and it was a pretty good performer. the 40 mc has a better reputation for contrast and resolution than mine, so i think you will be pretty happy. it is pretty tiny, which is always a plus on mirrorless cams. good luck with it!

It is excellent on the Leica M9.

Center sharp, edges a TINY bit soft wide open, by f2.8 it is sharp the whole frame all the way to f16.

Built very well, you get a slight improvement if you use the lens shade. Very good resolution, a high grade optic.

If you keep your eye out on eBay you can sometimes get a deal on them.

The lens brings up a 50mm frame line in the Leica. You can file the mount and make it bring up the 35mm frame line, which is a better match for the lens. This is not as scary as it sounds, you can find instructions online and it only takes 5 minutes, an easy job.

Thanks Tony and Valdemar.

I just got the lens. Adapter is on the way.
It's tiny for sure.
