Hi Everyone.

I just purchased an new old stock Tamron adaptall to Canon EF mount from Ebay

On the box it has Canon EF F2.5 634~524.

On closer examination it also has for Canon EF on the outer part of the mount.

I can tell you that it doesnt fit an EF mount but appears to be labelled wrong and it fits an FD mount.
Any ideas as to why this would state EF or would this possible be a Knock off copy

Cheers Glenn

My guess is that this adapter was intended for use with the Canon EF camera, an FD mount camera from the '70s.

Just to add to this, I suspect the reason why the box and mount mentioned the Canon EF camera in particular was because the EF was Canon's first auto-exposure SLR that took advantage of the Canon FD lens's auto setting. Well, neglecting the F-1's Servo-EE attachment, at least. So the mount was labeled as being for the EF as a way of indicating that it supported the "auto" setting is my guess. Even though the setting is on the lens and not the mount . . . erm.
