Ive just posted some images on flickr and thought Id share them here.
As Im sure many of you already know, due to the shorter flange distance on the original Chaika camera it does need modding to focus at infinity. I decided that I wanted to keep the infinity stop and didnt want to hack the lens so I turned a M39 adaptor down in a lathe. Ive also fine tuned the infinity focus so its dead accurate at the infinity stop wide open (its very easy to adjust on this lens), as well as removing the close focus stop, which allows the lens to focus at approx 40-50cm instead of the normal 80cm. A quick clean and lube and its as good as new.
For a total cost of only £20 (£14 for a broken Chaika 2 camera, £6 for an adaptor), this is a really low cost, high fun lens!
So how does it perform?
Well, its pretty good to be honest, better than I expected. Wide open centre sharpness is a bit soft, but not dreadful. Its very soft at the edges and there is some vignetting, but I was expecting this, its designed for a half frame camera after all. Bokeh is exactly what I wanted, its typically "russian", a bit fussy with a strange circular swirl noticeable in some images.
Stopped down to F5.6 or smaller and it becomes rather sharp, dare I say decently so. The edges also improve, although they are still on the soft side. Vignetting disappears. At f16 sharpness seems to drop away again.
One thing I have noticed is that when shooting at f2.8 the 5n's auto WB is fooled and the images are significantly warmer than when stopped down (the cooler, stopped down images represent accurate metering), but I rather like it, its got a good feel wide open.
All of these are straight from the camera, no post processing.

I've got one for my NEX 7 too, but it needs Cornerfix to make it usable.
A before and after CF, + a couple more.
Original
With CF(I'm not too happy with my current lens profile, so I'll be revisiting it again soon)
Center sharpness is well into my good enough zone, the 2 sides start go to mushy, but for the cost and size, it's good value.
