Hello,
it's a bit of time I'm trying to decide whether to buy something wider than the 55/2.8 for the M645.
The main idea is take the Zodiak 8 - 30/3.5 fisheye, 180° viewing angle and 30cm minimum focusing distance. Big and heavy but very fun and usable as a wide angle in certain situations.
But a few days ago I found the sekor 35/3.5 - 90 ° viewing angle and 45cm minimum focusing distance - at the same price of the fisheye.
Some advice?
I can/t buy both _________________ M42 | Super Takumar 20/4, 28/3.5, 35/3.5, 55/1.8, 105/2.8, 135/3.5, 200/4 - Tair-11A - Helios-44M - Mir-1B

The 35/3.5 is quite sharp and contrasty, but has some barrel distortion - excellent for nature, but not the best of architecture lenses. Get it, but don't pay too much... Contrary to some rumours, the N lens seems to be the same design (at any rate, the M645 manuals show the same diagram), with improved coating only - and the earlier C and S lenses are cheap. _________________ Sevo |

The 35mm I found is C version at 169€.
For architecture pictures the best choice is mamiya 50 tilt lens I think (or a T&S lens... exists?).
I have 2 days to decide for 35mm... _________________ M42 | Super Takumar 20/4, 28/3.5, 35/3.5, 55/1.8, 105/2.8, 135/3.5, 200/4 - Tair-11A - Helios-44M - Mir-1B

I had the C version back in the 80's and was very happy with it on an M645.

I take the Sekor C 35/3.5. Fisheye will comes next summer/autumn.
One question: I don't understand if lens hood is required for this wide. Someone has a brochure of M645 1000S to check? _________________ M42 | Super Takumar 20/4, 28/3.5, 35/3.5, 55/1.8, 105/2.8, 135/3.5, 200/4 - Tair-11A - Helios-44M - Mir-1B

No brochure or instruction manual will help you there. Just use it and decide for yourself if it's required for your type of shooting. |
