Very interesting to read the cameras and lenses you used David. Do you still have the K2? That's my fave Pentax cam so far and I'm looking for a replacement for my one, which has a dodgy meter. And I'm amazed at the quality you squeezed out of the plastic 28-80, that lens to me is the nadir of Pentax's crappy period, and mine sits unloved on the shelf.

1 and 7 are my favorites, too.

I actually have TWO K2s. Now that I have a KX, after I take it apart and clean the gunk off the inside of the viewfinder (it looks like someone smeared petroleum jelly inside it... wth?), I'm going to do a family album of all four K models in the next couple weeks.

I haven't been hugely disappointed with the 28-80. It's not nearly as good as my Canon EF 28-80 or Nikkor Zoom 43-86, but it's not the worst zoom I've ever owned. I admit that the macro function is very silly. The 'macro' shots I took lacked detail and contrast when compared to other shots on the roll. The IQ and contrast seem to be just fine in most shots -- when not using the macro. Not close to as good as my Sigma 35-80, though. Whether or not I'm going to keep it remains TBD. I want to try it with a few other films and in different conditions. My impression of the Pentax-A is that it's usable and can provide good results, but across a narrower range of focal distances, conditions, and subjects than comparable zooms from some other makers.
