My foray into MF lenses began today with this beauty in M42 mount converted to EF and used on a 7D. I believe it's a Tokina lens, and my version is in the original case with the 1:1 adapter. These are just a few test shots I could take in my room....sorry they're not too interesting subject wise Smile

1. Small crop, curve adjustments and a little sharpening

2. Small crop, curve adjustments and a little sharpening

These 2 are with a 36mm extension tube fitted (just to see what it was like Very Happy)

3 - 100% crop - no editing at all

4 - Bubble Wrap

Rather pleased with this one Smile

That's one of the best macro lens you have there. Conglats! Great start into MF lenses. You are lucky to have such a superb starter lens.

That is one very nice lens indeed. You got some very nice shots out of it.

I was looking for a deal on this lens and it never came so I got the Rikenon 90mm Macro (still a nice lens ;D)

I'm looking forward for more sample Very Happy

These two were taken with about 6 inches of bellows between the lens and the camera.....Both are uncropped....

And a couple showing the set-up on the 7D.

Well the subject may be of interest to most people on this forum.. if only that you need more of it to buy more manual focus lenses. I assume you used an m42 to Canon EF adapter to mount this lens? The term converted suggests a modification of the lens itself, rather than use of an adapter.

I've also got this lens and I like it a lot. Your collection of manual focus lenses consists of nothing but top performers.

Have you used it for general photography? That is, non-macro? I'd like to see some of those too. You're fortunate to have the M42 version; mine is Minolta mount, so I'll have to wait until I get a NEX to use for other than close-up.
