Interesting lens, has great colours and contrast and a good deal of 3D in it's rendering:

Yes, it's one of only two Nikonos lenses that works in air.

Adapted to NEX, works really well, the knob focus is a joy to use.

Strange lens. Never seen one like that. But I like what I see in terms of contrast and sharpness.
I don't see any aperture ring. It's an f/4 only or you can adjust the diaphragm with one of those knobs?

PS

Nice keyboard Very Happy

It's for the Nikonos underwater SLR. Black knob controls aperture, silver is focus.

Keyboard is an old IBM one, much nicer to type on than a modern one. Needs a good clean though!

Hi,
Did you buy that adapter or is it a DIY mount? I guess the 35mm lens would be interesting to test as well.

The 35mm is nice, I used it on film on a Nikonos IV-A.
It has some swirl in the bokeh wide open.
The largest problem was flare.
it gave a large flare patch the shape of the aperture in the middle of the frame, likely due to the large flat front element, so try to find a hood that will fit and keep your back to the sun / bright areas.

The lens just happened to be the precise right diameter to fit into/onto a NEX extension tube so it was the easiest possible DIY job.

The 35 does sound interesting, it's not cheap though, neither is this 80mm either.
