Exakta VX1000 shutter problem

I have received a working Exakta VX1000.
At least the shutter appears to be working correctly, but T and B don't. That are the ways to get long shuttertimes on the other dial. But that dial is frozen, so I think that is the reason why T and B cannot work properly.
Anyone an idea how to free the dial for long times and selftimer?

It could still be some issue on the short time knob - I've seen a VX500 (which doesn't even have the long time knob) get stuck on T and B. Exaktas have higher tension on the shorter times - which makes them more prone to failure at the longer times, where constant tension shutters are more vulnerable to capping at the shortest speeds.

I have no solution to offer - mine worked again after complete dis- and reassembly (which it needed in any case due to a cracked curtain), without ever addressing the T/B issue separately and consciously.

Might be worthwhile removing the top trim screw on the long times knob and sparingly applying some drops of IPA or lighter fluid to the shaft to see if you can free it off.

In addition to cocking the shutter, you need to be able to wind up the slow speed mechanism before removing the knob to allow the removal of the top plate for access (you then refit the knob) as the mechanism is pre-tensioned and just removing the knob may allow the mechanics to wind down further than they should.
