My Komine made 28 Close Focus goes down to 0.23 Meters / 1 foot. But it is a little confusing as the scale for Meters overlaps the scale for feet - at 1 foot the scale reads slightly above 0.3 metres, which is correct. But the feet scale then becomes a ratio scale and is marked 'CF 1:5 1:6 1:7'
The meters scale at it's shortest, 0.23, corresponds with the CF markings at 1:5.

The Close Focus is a different lens than the other Vivitar 28mm lenses. It says Close Focus on the front as in the picture below. The fact that others may focus closely does not make them a Close Focus version. All the Close Focus are Komine made.

On it I see a 0.23 minimum focus distance. What do you think? Is it a good lens this OM version? thanks. _________________ Manual Lenses

i have the Vivitar 28mm 2.8 close focus for Olympus OM. Looks very similar, but is missing the close focus naming on the front and the close focus markings for distance.
I have the "k05" on an Olympus OM mount

I too have an extra in OM mount. I had taken the mount off to see if it could be converted to Sony, but quickly gave up. If anyone can figure out how to get that mount back on, it can be had cheap. _________________ Regards,

Of my Viv 28s: The Komine 28/2 CFWA (#2840****, 270g) has a close focus of 17cm.
The Kiron 28/2.5 (# 2223*****, 360g) has close-focus of 30cm. Both Ks are NI mount.
The (unknown) 28/2.8 (# U971*****, 130g, M42) has close-focus of 23cm. What maker?
Most of my other 28s have close focus of 30cm or thereabouts. Exceptions: the Tamron 02B 28/2.5 is 24cm. THe Access-Tokina 28/2.8 'macro' is 11cm. The Accura Diamatic is 40cm. The Chinon 28/2.8 is the loser at 1.5m. But the Focal-Makinon, a couple Hanimexes, Pentax SMC-M, Rokinon, Sears, Soligor-Tokina and Toyo-Sun 28/2.8s are all at 30cm. _________________ Too many film+digi cams+lenses, oh my -- Pentax K20D, K-1000, M42s, more

That sounds extreme indeed. Maybe it's 1.5 foot (~45cm)? |

Duh, yeah, I misread (and mis-recorded) the MFD. This N/AI-mount Chinon (#519xxx) actually has MFD= 40cm. That still puts it at the long end of my 28s, tied with the Accura Diamatic.
@Lloydy,
That's a right good picture from a right good lens, my favorite 28. _________________ Too many film+digi cams+lenses, oh my -- Pentax K20D, K-1000, M42s, more
