Excellent...I can't make my mind up whether to get the 40mm or 50mm for my ETRs, in the meantime on dithering prices go up so I'll probably never get either one (I do have a 65mm on a RB67 so I'm not without a WA for MF). _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. the Bronica`s i got was such a good deal 1 ETRSi and ETRwith two 75mm and one 50mm both with the handle and metered prism`s for $ 400.00, you see a lot more 50`s for sale than the 40mm, but the prices out there are very reasonable, the format for landscape is useful, maybe one day you might be able to get a digital back |

I'm very fond of my ETRSi. I don't have a WA lens for it yet. It's possible to pick up a 50mm on eBay for decent prices if you're patient, but the 40mm is usually priced quite a bit higher. Not unlike the differences in prices between a 28mm and a 24mm in 35mm format. Bronica also made a 45-90 zoom, but that usually goes for quite a bit more whenever it appears on eBay.
Regarding the possibility of a digital back being available someday, this has been discussed in other forums and the consensus seems to be that there isn't much of a chance of it happening since Bronica is a discontinued marque, thanks to Tamron's bean counters. No chance of economic growth with a dead system, I suppose would be the reason. _________________ Michael

Great shot of that cool looking rat mobile. At first I thought it had a flat-head V8, then I started counting spark plugs. Huh? Am I counting them right? It looks like there are six on that bank. So either that's a flat-head slant six (didn't know such a thing existed) or it's a flat-head V12. So I googled it. Sure enough, Lincoln made a few different V12 motors from 1932 to 1948. Huh. I'll bet that's a wild sounding rat mobile.
I'm really fond of Portra 160. I've used it with my Bronica ETRSi with great results. Excellent color saturation and detail, I find it to be as good as some of the better slide emulsions I've used. _________________ Michael

Cool! I used to have an EC-TL outfit. Took me forever to find a spare back for it; they're rare as hens teeth. I had the WA and tele, a 150 I think. I don't remember which WA I had. Also had the compendium shade. Sold it in 1992 to buy a new computer that was obsolete three years later. Dumb. It was a lovely outfit. I was really impressed with its aperture-priority AE functionality; it worked very well because of the way the meter metered the scene. As I recall, it was very tight, almost a spot. _________________ Michael

I didn't know that Bronica made a grip for that camera. You might end up having to go with a universal one. I like the shape of the Vivitar grips and I've seen a few on eBay with a bottom platform to fit MF. Practical if you have a prism finder, but not really necessary if you're just using the WLF. That reminds me -- I had the prism finder for mine as well. As for the extra mag -- do you mean film insert? They might be somewhat easier to find, I dunno. You might want to conduct some research and see if they will interchange with the ones for the old S2/S2a. Backs for those cameras were much more plentiful when I was looking for mine.
Hey! Hollywood Camera has an EC back on eBay right now. BIN is $150, which was a steal back in the day. Pricey for nowadays, so maybe it won't sell. Only 32 minutes left as I write this.

They also have a parts back for $44.

And Pacific Rim Camera has a well worn insert, but I guess it still works, for $45.

Whoops, I stand corrected. Here's an EC/S2a grip in the UK
