Congrats!

It´s the first lens I bought, about 35 years ago (all lenses were manual then, of course), and I´ll never sell it.

I have the 3.5 and 2.8 versions - both terrific. This is one of the great lenses and grossly under-priced

I have this lens too and it is indeed very sharp, it only fetches 25-40eu so is a huge bargain.

Thanks guys. really appriciate your kind words. I agree with you guys, it performance go beyond it's price now.
I have been looking for any other macro lens at good price. ( got volna 9 & Kiron 105)
for me this nikon is better for overall shot, not only macro, it caught detail in infinity very nice, with only minor focusing.
more..

Now sample for MFD

and crop 100%, 1 level sharpening with irfanview

this pre ai lens isn't being AI'ed perfectly. it match in Nikon body, but with adapter the adapter push aperture ring so it stuck in f5,6
I have to grind it soon.

The Canon and Nikon Macro 50-55mm lenses are very good for overall shot.

I have the Nikkor 50mm f:1.4 and the Nikkor 55mm f:1.2.
I'd say they are very good at f:2.5 too. But their min focusing distance is 0,60m.
