Hi,
I purchased an S-M-C Takumar 300/4, but I miss a tripod mount collar.
Can you advise me which other lenses use the same or similar collar?
I suppose there may be some relatively cheap.
What about Takumar 300/4 (Not super-) or 300/6.3 or something cheaper?
I'm contemplating about buying a cheap lens in a bad condition and using a collar from it.
Thank you! |

can you post a picture of the lens and also what diameter is the lens where the mount would go? i have fitted one onto a Tair 300mm that was for a Nikon 200mm but you can buy different sizes on Ebay etc.
Cheers

SRB Griturn here in the UK will make a collar to order. They're a good company which I've used for a long time. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....

I haven't received the lens yet so I cannot measure the diameter. Here is the picture provided by the seller
On this forum must be a few people here who have all of those 300-Takumars, and they can say for sure, whether those have same/similar/interchangeable tripod mounts with S-M-C Takumar 300/4?
- Takumar 300/4 (not Super-)
- Takumar 300/6.3
- ... ?

Thanks for help, however I hope for 50 GBP I can have a used-to-death Takumar 300/4 or 300/5.6 WITH a collar, and use the lens for spare parts as a free bonus. |

I have a 300mm F 4.0 SMC Takumar with the collar intact. It is a fairly difficult lens to use (imo). I have to stop it down to F 8 to keep CA reasonable, although I have taken a few wide open portraits with it. Live view seems to work best with it for focusing (if available). I'd actaully like to dump mine off, but I am not a lens wheeler dealer:) |

Nobody here owns both S-M-C Takumar 300/4 and Takumar 300/4, really? |

I dont have both tak, only the smc tak, with tripod colar. Tak300/4 is nothing i am looking for. That because the lens has more CA/PF than other later versions like M*300/4 and A*300/4. Even missing tripod colar, the lens is handheldable, esp with a body with build-in stabilizator _________________ La migliore cura di LBA imparare una nuova lingua. I didn't mean to use older 300's for shooting.
I meant to use it just as a donor for the collar.
Anyway, I've got a PM from a member who explained to me that older versions of Takumar 300 (not Super-) have non-removable collars, thus only Super-Takumar may be used to borrow the collar from.
Thank you guys, I got what I needed. |
