I am thinking about purchasing a Zeiss Jena 300mm f/4 Sonnat MC and using it on my Nikon FA (maybe on a F3, too, somewhen in the future). Does the light meter work with adapted lenses on these cameras. I know that standard open diaphrgm spot or matrix metering won't work but without so much as stop down metering I'd be completely lost.

By the way, which Pentacon Six to Nikon F lens mount adaptor works best (here in germany enjoyyourcamera and siocore are most common)?

Thanks for any answers in advance.

I don´t have a FA or F3, just a FE, but at least with that body, the metering works Ok with my Nikon-converted Volna-3 lens (with no aperture indexing).
