Lens:

The one drawback of the lens I found is; it is more susceptible to lens shake because it is long ,skinny and light -which affects the balance. The front of the lens is light and reacts to movement of even the shutter button being pressed-takes a little practice.

Its sharp wide open. In better than average light, I imagine it would make the lens shake less of an issue.

All images taken @5.5.

Regards

Nice situation with the slow shutter speed and the bird in the water.

A very difficult shot but a rare opportunity.

I have the 360/5.5 Tele-Xenar, and it is indeed a sharp lens wide open also.

Thanks. Slow lens , in gloomy weather not ideal Very Happy .
I have managed to collect 2 copies of your mentioned 360/5.5 Tele-Xenar , in Exakta mount, hoping one would be a good performer. They look good cosmetically . I have struck out- after cleaning both lenses and lubing the focus ring of both. My copies have flare and are not sharp at all. I believe I have bad copies that have deterioated performance.

I also find it heavier than I hoped ,and the tripod mount is too close to the small focusing ring-making it cumbersome to focus..

I will be giving the slightly better copy a run in the sun, when the sun pops out next.

Cheers
