Smooth focusing, very small and compact, feels pretty well built and very sharp from F4
Most of these are taken between F4 and F5.6
The SMC coating has an amazing colour and has to be one of the sexiest lens coatings i have seen

The M1.7/50 definitely qualifies as one of the underdog lenses. I spent nearly half my lifetime using nothing else, then I put it away for a time while I've been buying more sexy lenses, but I've started using it again this year.
I'd love to see a shoot out between this lens and your Minolta 1.4/50 if you have time one day. I have a feeling the Pentax might win.

I'm a Minolta fan, but I like what I see from this lens.I'd love to see a shootout between this lens and the Minolta.
As for sharpness it looks good, but what Post processing was done?

Come on, Walter  I started with Pentax years ago and took to Minolta as well only recently, so you could do it the other way round. Just think of all those lovely Pentax lenses waiting for you to try!

may I ask which version of the f1.4/50 Minolta you are referring to, MD 49mm filter, MD 55mm filter or MC Rokkor-PF? ( may do a shootout too )
