Same to you Smile

It must be good, I sent a link to my daughter with a K-x Smile
She knows an 'old lens' when she hefts one ( I laid a Tamron 90/2.5 on her along with the K-x)
I like how there is just one fast loading pic and how you give the settings used clearly. Nice how you used wide open mainly.
Keep it up Smile

Pete

Thanks all

Ash: I wanted to save that for later on , I dont want to spend all the time on it and have noone read/use it, this was sort of an experiment to see what would happen. But I agree, a short history and I also need to add some links

Nice looking blog, Dude!

Hey, about sharing blog links, I recommend we start a separate thread on that subject, which most likely should be a sticky, so that members here can more easily find other members' blogs.

I have a blog that I occasionally post to and usually the information there is photography related:

http://mwmcbroom.wordpress.com/

Although I think I'm gonna be moving it over to my own domain soon.

I really like the idea, I'll follow it for sure, thanks for showing us! I think what I'd like to see is more variety in the photographs, a lot of them just seem like close up images of nothing in particular. I do enjoy the first image though Smile

Good start on the blog.

Mine - it has links to two more - I am not an image guy, I enjoy playing with my toys and occasionally have some success.

Nice write-up, Dude. I'm already pretty well fixed up in the normal lens department, but one thing about these old Soviet lenses I've never understood is their naming terminology. I would be interested in picking one up in an ultrawide focal length. What would something like that be called, say for focal lengths 24mm and wider? Is it still a "Helios" or another name? I'll wager they're not as cheap as the normal Helioses, though, are they?

Hi Michael,
Here is a link to a russian site about theur lenses.
Jupiter, Mir, Industar, Helios, Taïr are kind of brands.

http://translate.google.fr/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.photohistory.ru%2F1207248187762117.html&sl=ru&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8

Enjoy.

Thats a great link, the disadvantage is that once you get below 28mm, I dont think there is even a thing as a cheap ultrawide lens, so if you are going to spend that much cash ( 150+) you might as well look for a nice Takumar or a Zeiss flektogon for a few dollars more Sad

Getting a bit OT here:

Those who have blogs must have checked out the various blog sits and compared their merits and shortcomings; generally speaking which are the better ones, and how do you pick the one to go for?

I agree with dude, blogspot is easy to set up. The other one is WordPress. Which I think can probably be argued is the more powerful of the two.

The cool thing for blogspot is its quick and easy, which is what I wanted my blog to be , just a few paragraphs and a photo.

Something i could edit within 5 minutes or less basically
