Lens was in bad shape-cosmetically, and a few elements were suffering from coating deteriation and had marks. The focus ring was stiff. After a cleanup and repair(sorry no before pictures of lens).

Seems IQ is not spoilt, I like the look of these earlier chrome lenses. Flek 35, whatever version never seems to be as good as some other Zeiss though.

Yeah Ian, still has the pop- I use it with a hood. It renders great images indoors, too. As far as quality- I love the beautiful images Flektogons produce- I have another Zebra and one in Praktina mount( that I use for closeups).
What are you comparing? Focal lengths, lens design? I don't understand what you mean by never as good as other Zeiss-care to expand. Very Happy
