Jupiter 11 M39 no focus

I purchased this some time ago and it's in first class cosmetic and optical condition, however I can't get zilch focus. I've not stripped a lens down before but as this one looks simple enough I removed the focus ring screws and separated the 2 halves and tried adding removing shims to no effect, is it possible that someone has cleaned the lens and maybe fitted the rear element back to front ? I would have tried swapping it myself but I don't own the correct tool and didn't want to butcher it by trying to tap the ring loose, can someone suggest somewhere to buy a reasonably priced tool and are the ones you see on ebay such as the one below any good.
Thanks
John

Which version do you have the rangefinder one or SLR one?
and on what you are testing it?

I've tested it on my G2 and the Sony A580, it's silver, quite slim and approx 100mm in legnth

The slim version should be the RF one, so it should work only on mirrorless cameras. The register is too short for DSLr

Thank you, ah well lesson learned, I only have the G2, A580 and as of yesterday the A77, so back to the cupboard it goes until if and when I buy one although I'm very happy with what I have so may be better off moving it on.

I do not know much about Panasonic camera lineup, but G2 should be a micro 4/3 right? So the lens should work on this camera with a simple L39-micro4/3 adapter.
If you post a picture f the lens it will be easier to identify it.

Identical to this one http://forum.mflenses.com/jupiter-11-contax-rangefinder-version-on-the-nex-5-t38715,highlight,%2Bjupiter.html but with M39

For sure RF then. I's not a bad lens, not the best 135mm but very small and light.

With carefull selections you can find some amazing copies , friend of mine who has experience with many lenses (his is a repair man) said he has a copy which is best 135mm lens what he did try ever.

J11 M39 have two version one FAT shape for SLR one slim shape like a tube for RF , if you have two lens with same shape , both are RF lens and I think they have no other difference than mount.

Thanks for the answer .
I am sorry , it's my fault , I didn't make things clear . I have the fat(SLR) version with scratches on the glass , and the slim(RF) one with perfect glass but the helicoid is damaged , and anyway I want an SLR version . The right question is , can I put the optics of the slim version , on the mechanism of the fat one and how ?
Thank you again .
