A very nostalgic shot with the rear group of a Helios-44-2

I noticed that the rear lens group of Helios-44-2 has a lot of field curvature, much more than the rear group of Heliar. On an EOS5D, it seems the sides of the frame are in focus to about 1 m when the center is focused at infinity! This amount of field curvature makes it mostly useless as the sides and especially the corners will be very soft. However, sometimes the result can be very pictorial in a nostalgic way, like this, after a moderate amount of sharpening at full resolution and toning:

I have something similar; rear elements of a 44M but the front elements removed and replaced with a closeup filter. A similasr result in the edges but sharper in the centre.
