Hi. I recently noticed that one of the lenses that I received from Russia a few months ago has a light thread inside that I suspect is fungus.

With just one thread like that, is the lens a danger to other lenses? Also, is it best to stop using it? Or, would you continue to use it? It is one of those Helios M44-2 lenses and is very sharp.

Thanks.

Too late, all your lenses (and also the lenses of your neighboors) are contamined, throm it in a nuclear waste bin. If you don't have one, send them to me Mr. Green

Seriously, don't care after that. The funugs needs darkness and humidity to grow. Cut one of these conditions and it won't grow. Fungus are everywhere, you are breathing them, so the danger for your lenses is only depending on storage conditions.
