He sold me two lenses and also purchased from me a camera. I would say he is very pro and trustworthy.

Thanks for the update. Currently am bidding on three of his items.

You can't find better ones. Go a head!

Thanks Attila, as you might have guessed, I am bidding on some Exakta lenses. Hope to get hold of the Meyer Trioplan 2.8/100 and the Flektogon 2.8/35. Wish me luck.

Smart choice ! I cross my fingers, they are quite common lenses and Exakta mount not so popular I am sure you will get them on reasonable price.

I have mixed experiences with Spiros in Athens actually.
Bought some M42 lenses then I got his email that "aperture is stuck" although he had described it as being in perfect condition.
Not sure if he always checks his stuff he sells after the sale or before, I was honestly thrown off....

Always need to check aperture before send out a lens , before I did it this I sent also a lens with stuck aperture. It worked fine before one month of selling date. A few times I realized just right before send out aperture is slow and might be not works. I suppose he got this problem, looks to me a nicest honest seller even if sometimes he made trouble. How did he solve this problem ?

Got an email from Spiros complaining (actually sarcastically thanking me) about my entry.

What threw me off when I won this item in "excellent condition" which later turned out having stuck aperture blades, so he told me he would not be able to sell it to me, was, that he either did not check it correctly before, OR sth happened with it during the time span of the auction (extremely unlikely), or it was auctioned knowing that it has a problem (I doubt that he would be cheating). So what is left is the impression of lacking care/professionalism. This is all I have to say to that. I did not give him a negative ebay rating for that btw.

I bought other items from him before, which were OK, so I hope this was a simple "glitch" which happened.

I guess after these entries he will more carefully check his items. I still think he is a great seller and sometimes bad thing happen.

I eventually bought a Pentacon 3.5/30 from him and was very satisfied. Thought I'd share this as I started this thread. Shipping was fast, professionally packed and item exactly as described.

I've bought several lenses from him. Exact descriptions, well packaged, fast turnaround times and priority shipping.

I'd say he's as good as eBay can get. I am especially impressed at the turnaround times, he sells a lot of stuff and auctions end all the time, only a professional can manage the process so well with that many objects for sale.

So I told the truth here ... and the result is, I got some not really friendly emails from him and he banned me from bidding on his items...

Draw your own conclusion from that....

Purely emotional reaction I guess Attila
- very sad and unneeded!

First of all I must thank you all for your positive comments. Please be assured that I will continue to provide TOP lenses at affordable prices.

As far as Klaus (kds315*) is concerned, I must point out that all bidders with a (private) feedback are banned from my auctions, as per my "Terms and Conditions" which can be found in my "me" page.

Like everybody else, even Klaus must read my rules carefully, accept them and act accordingly. Only if/when he makes his profile public he is welcome to bid on my auctions.

No hard feelings, after all!

I purchased and received a Meyer Optik Lydith 3.5/30 two days ago from Stil22. The lens looks as good as any brand new Canon from the factory - really.

Very happy with price, shipping and packing.

hi all, i am new to manual lens.
i know the ebay is a good source of various good manual lens. i am so happy to see this forum addressing good sellers and bad sellers.
about this seller, i think he is great too. i didn't buy any lens from him yet (just start my manual lens adventure). but i keep wondering why he can get so so many good lens to sell. and he got high positive feedback percentage. and i look at my watching list, always i can find one or two lenses is selling by him.
haha, just to share my feelings... Wink

I think he's a good seller with great items.

The problem is, he is so established that there really is no bargain in his listings; in fact, most of the items he sells are won for slightly inflated prices, I'd say a good 15-20%. Which is not his fault, but because people have confidence in him and are willing to pay that slight premium for a nearly guaranteed good product.

I on the other hand would rather purchase a lens at 15-20% below the "market price" even if it meant that I'll have to CLA myself and/or negotiate with the seller after purchasing.

For "solid" transaction, I can wait till I find a good offer at places like here and several other internet fora; sure I won't be able to get what I want when I want, but the prices will be lower than stil22's and the quality would be on par, if not better (like the CZJ Sonnar 135/2.8 and Tair-11A 135/2.8 I got here recently).

Thanx to this forum i discovered this seller. Items are indeed pretty perfect, description is fine, pictures are great, he's no cheater. But i came across same lenses he solds, and bought some for half the price ( i don't mind little paint wear loss or small particles of dust , the major is that the lens has no marks, no fungus ) .

For instance he solds a CZJ 135mm for about 100$ + 17 € shipping always, i had mine for 60£ with 5£ shipping, it workx fine, i just had to clean the front lens cause there were two marks. Lens is perfect apart that...

anyway its a good seller, but as said above prices are a good 30% over, but that's good for the guy business. By the way i always wonder how he manages to have so many lenses to sell, i think its and entire truck of CZJ lenses parked in the garage sometimes Laughing
