Superb lens. No drawbacks except it's not fast. Some samples: http://forum.mflenses.com/isco-westanar-4-180mm-t44283.html

If anything like the 150mm, it'll be nice and sharp with decent CA control and a multi-multi-blade round diaphragm.

Interesting reading, I have this lens too, but I've never used it (yet). I rarly use tele lenses from 150mm and up. Not because I don't like long range lenses, but because of the size Wink

Looks this is in latest finish, I did know in different all metal finish 2.8 lens. It went cheap right, thank you!

Yes, latest finish, I have a 35mm and a 50mm like this.
I was tempted...But I try to cure my L.B.A. Wink

Is that plastic?

Mainly in solid metal but some plastics are used (focus ring, name ring for example)

That one looks much like my 135mm. Mine has much plastic and I'm not as thrilled about its build as with my older 150mm.

It's terrible idea to put great 2.8/180mm optics into plastic.

+1 it looks to me this is not made in Germany, rather in Japan and re-bagged to ISCO.
