Fantastic images, such wonderful bokeh. Is this for the old Pen half frame cameras? _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Thanks Ian , had to edit the title -its actually a 50mm lens.
Olympus had a screwmount camera - and some lenses to go with it. I have the camera and 2 lenses as pictured.

I'm a big fan of Zuiko glass!
Is there a difference between the OM and M42 mount lenses? Or is it just the actual mount that differs?
Could you check out how much the G.Zuiko and F.Zuiko lenses differ. I reckon the F.Zuiko would be better, but let's see, shall we?! |

According to this the lenses and camera were not designed, but were manufactured by Olympus.

So likely there is no connection between the M42 and OM lenses. This does not make them bad lenses in any way, as can be seen from Kathmandu's photos .
The letter seems to stand for the number of elements, so the G has 7 element, the F has 6, see:

Hold on here, maybe I'm just stupid, but does that mean the OM and M42 are a different lenses? Both were manufactured by Olympus, but they have a different build, is that it? |

yup, thats correct. Olympus apparently needed a stopgap after the PEN ran out and the OM was not ready yet so they commissioned an unknown manufacturer to design a system for them. |
