This tiny lens is pretty darn good. I shot a concert series this weekend using my 105mm Nikkor and my 100mm Series E, and I have to say that the 100mm was the equal of the 105mm. The only area in which the 105mm had an advantage was in flare resistance. You can see the flare in the first two shots.

Very nice. That lens is on my long wish list. It has a reputation of being one of the best Series E lenses. So far I've had mixed experiences with the E lenses. My copy of the 75-150 is awesome, the 50 1.8 I have is pretty good, and my copy of the 36-72 is a dog-wonder if all the 36-72's are that bad.
