Last night we attended a Songwriters Showcase & I took the Panasonic G1 & GF1 along with Minolta 45/2, 50/1.4 & 58/1.4. The GF1 was fitted with the 45/2 for the evening & I switched between the 50/1.4 & the 58/1.4 on the G1. The G1 shot RAW but the GF1 shot in jpeg as it is my wife's camera & I never noticed until it was too late. The light was very low & both cameras were set to max ISO 3200 & f2.0, wide open for the 45/2.

Laura Bird

45/2

50/1.4

58/1.4

George Scott

45/2

50/1.4

58/1.4

Tricia Brubacher

45/2

50/1.4

58/1.4

I found it very difficult to focus with the GF1 in such low light not having a viewfinder. Shutter speeds varied widely as did the light on the subjects.

Hi Ron

Very nice series.

Sorprise to me the rendering of the 2/45. As we can wait, something in the warm side, but no lose IQ for that. And wide open!!!

The three pics with the 1,4/50 overexposed the skin a bit.

The images taken with the 1,4/58 are very good too. But those with the 2/45.......

It seems to be a small great lens.

very nice results Ron, taking account the 3200 iso and the very low shutter speed

Thanks estudleon & poilu for your replies.

I was very surprised @ the showing of the 45/2 myself & somewhat disappointed in the 50/1.4. I had a Minolta 50/1.7 in the bag as well but forgot to give it a try.

We will be in Cuba when the next show is on but hopefully I will get to pit the 50/1.7 & 58/1.4 against a Canon FD 50/1.4 @ the show after that.

Fun stuff, testing in such environments.
