Hi,

short questions for the experts here.

Can I use this lens

with a KIEV 60 ?

Thought that I could remove the mount (there is only one screw) but it seems that is impossible. Used this lens long time ago with an adapter at my Canon 1D and as far I remember it was not too bad. Thought that it is for an Exakta 66 but it seems that I´m wrong.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Wink

I've read that the Sonnar P6 mount has an issue with an unmodified Kiev 60/Kiev 88cm mount. The locking ring on these needs to be re-milled to allow for the extra space the sonnar needs. You can buy the modified locking ring from Arax for $25ish, I believe.

I dont think it has pentacon six mount. My P6 mount looks totally different. Are you sure that you dont have a kind of adapter attached on it? Looks likeyou have a SLR adapter. The mount flags seems too thin to support medium format.

Lens has P6 mount , but on lens you can see an additional 35mm mount adapter you need to unscrew ring fixer screw and take it off.

Yes, I thought it too but unfortunately it is not removable. Maybe someone has worked here with Loctite or something else. Not possible to screw this ring. Perhaps I will go in the next days to my repair shop.

Anyway many thanks for your help.

Loctite... Shocked What a shame.
It's a P6/Kiev-60 mount on a P6 to Eos adapter.

I believe that screw ring is opposite direction. Try turning in usual tighten direction.

That's correct, the adapter can be removed by turning the ribbed locking ring (make sure you're holding on to that ring *only*) clockwise (when holding the lens with its mount facing up).

Thanks. I have tried it already before - no way. That is why I told about Loctite. Shocked

I had problems removing mine after I fitted it myself. I'm not sure what happens because it became impossibly tight. My suloution was to use a car oil filter wrench; just make sure you turn it the correct way (follow the arrow).

Very good idea, thank you Martin. Will try it.

Hi Olivier, will do it.

And yes, the family is well, I´m well too - the weather is good. So no great problems at the moment. Bought few days ago at one of my dear dealers and repair shops a bunch of Russian cams and lenses. So few new photographically challenges for the next weeks Laughing Laughing Laughing

Hope everything is well on your side too.

It can be very difficult to loosen, especially if you spent any amount of time turning in the other direction. Been there. Also important, as aoleg stated, to turn the ring only and not expect the adapter to turn with it. It takes some convincing to force yourself to turn clockwise to loosen.

Many thanks for your advise. Give it a next try this evening.

Pentacon 6 adapters have a nasty habit of getting stuck even without loctite… I have two lenses with P6->M42 adapters and I can't get either adapter off for the life of me.
