compact is the key word.
do all of these manufacuters offer a prime, single focal length, compact lens like panasonic does?

Sony-Nex-3 , Samsun NX both second hand , it will be inexpensive , compact, powerful.

With any Pentax you'll have a veritable cornucopia of lenses to choose from -- pancake primes, small 50s and 55s, etc. Even some compact zooms. I'm also partial to Pentax. A mirrorless camera will be smaller and possibly more maintenance-free over its lifetime.
