Camera in fully working order, even light meter works and accurate. Speeds are slow fastest one is 1/125. It will be cla'd soon I enjoy it very much. Such a great cam.

Still admiring this... what is the "Red P", how can I see that in, say, ebay listings?

Red P = Red T better coating from those years on Ebay listing usually you can see only on pictures , these lenses have cm title 3,5cm instead of 35mm , but people rarely mention it. Perhaps silver Jupiter-12 help to narrow search.

Thank you again Attila - I'm in the middle of a move, but saw just the lens come on, in Connecticut - and made an offer the day before we closed on the new house, paid on the day we closed, figuring it would arrive late this week or next... and there it was, the very first thing the US Post Office delivered to our new house. Wink Laughing I'd say this was the proper way to inaugurate the new address.

Made the same year I was, too Very Happy

I note the rear element has more shrouding than the more common, later J-12, e.g. this LTM version:

I wonder if this difference accounts for some of the performance difference?

That is my favourite camera of all time. I had a very clean copy that I sold to someone here a few years ago. I don't know what it was about it that I liked so much, it just had a certain clunky but satisfying feel about it. And I loved the F2 lens on it, superbly sharp.
