This is no surprise, since such a "NEX panorama" is shot dynamically, without tripod and I guess it is almost impossible to shoot matching dynmaic panorama images.

Take a look on Tobias panorama guide, how can you make perfect panoramas handheld!

But it's a little different with the NEX.
The NEX automatically stitches images together, you know that.
And if you shoot, say, 3 panorama images, one on top of another one, you would need to start precisely at the same point in order not to lose too much.
Of course, it is possible - anything goes - but not as easy as you might think.
