I bought an MD>EOS adapter with AF chip and glass lens from big_is last week to try my MD lenses on digital for the first time. I have to say I'm really surprised. The glass lens works a lot better than I expected. OK, it does degrade the image ever so slightly and introduces extra flaring wide open, but this soon disappears when stopped down a little. The adapter is very well made too, the MD lenses lock onto it with with index mark perfectly at the top, and the adapter locks onto the Canon in the normal way.

This is with the lens in macro mode, about 1:5 and aperture at f8

100% crop

Seems to be the same lens like the LEICA. Great performer with good 3D capabilities.

Thanks Rolf. I don't know Leica at all, but I think you;re right. I read somewhere that Minolta actually provided the optics for the Leica version.
