I found this an bought it cause it made me curios what it is.

anyone any idea ?
I has some kind of bayonet.

it produces extreme flares ^^ ( shell of the bug).

No idea!

Looks as if it was meant to be handled but also close to intense heat? Very old projectors tended to be hot.

You might want to dismantle the hood and replace with a smaller one?

Aesthetics and manoeverability. Any infinity focus?

i cant get infinity, i us a Olympus dslr, so to far from the sensor.
The pictures where taken whit no hood, i removed it to use the lens en screw it back on. so people might recongnise it.

Idd i agree, it is meant to operate near high temperatures ( old heat sink system).

But what i find weird is the bayonet system, it gives the feeling that it is easily removed/ switched.

maybe it had to be changed every (specific) time to prevent over heating?
(only thing i can think of)

Some nice filmic quality, but very strong flare?

I would suppose that this is a kind of condensor lamp housing - probably for a microscope / slide or film projector?
