Yesterday i received a Helios 44M. The focussing was not very smooth, so i decided to open it. Now I can't put it back together. I seem to have destroyed a perfectly good lens..... I feel stupid.

Just thought i'd share it with you. Maybe I'll get it done tonight Sad

Relax one day rest usually help a lot that is not a difficult lens, I am sure you will be put back again successfully.

I am far from good at reparing lenses, but I have successfully repaired a number of these.

Helios 44M is hard to destroy. Even this worked fine:

I tried again yesterday evening, i wasn't able to fix it yet. Tonight i'll see if these links help me.

i was pretty frustrated yesterday. Smile

Yeah, I destroyed a 1970s Sigma 35-70 that wouldn't turn or zoom. I felt pretty boneheaded about it but learned to never again take apart a Sigma. Some of these lenses are surprisingly complicated internally.

yes! i did it. I didn't think right, but now i know how, it's really quite simple.

I'ts a great lens by the way, nice colours.

I think you try some of the rings the wrong way. That is what I did for the first 5 times. Smile
