Those look pretty good to me. I would very happy to get results like that from my FD lenses and the FD-EOS adapter.
Which adapter are you using and do you have a link? _________________ Alan. |

You will lose too much IQ with FD to EOS glass adapter on a digital body.

Alan,
Thanks for your comments. The adapter's just a cheap as chips eeebay import from China or thereabouts. Definitely nothing special.
I find some FL and FD lenses are happy with it, as is this lens, others kinda make you want to screw your eyes up and scream. I used to fancy it was a focal length thing but I can't find a common theme. _________________ I used to think digital was fun but then I discovered film, then I found old lenses and then, eventually I found rangefinders.

I have a very old 28mm FD, which I am not too bothered about. I might have a go at doing a conversion, if I can find some instruction. _________________ Alan. |

My comments to killwilly perhaps apply to you too. Although perhaps an experienced old film user can tell us whether this lens was ever regarded as sharp?
I'm still processing images from my first few outings and I'll try again in brighter/dryer conditions than we have locally today. _________________ I used to think digital was fun but then I discovered film, then I found old lenses and then, eventually I found rangefinders.

Film? Film? FILM? Are you kidding? That means sending film off to be what's the word they used in the old days? Oh yes, "developed" what a quaint idea.
What's that you say? "Do it myself"? Blimey, I barely have time to process digital images and try to nudge up my post count here what with everything else I have to do between waking and sleeping _________________ I used to think digital was fun but then I discovered film, then I found old lenses and then, eventually I found rangefinders.

My FD-EOS converter was from China and has removable optics, which I have removed for use with my 100mm f4 FD macro. The results with the macro are OK, but not perfect. _________________ Alan. |

Well my judgement is simple:- If a prime cannot be better than a zoom for sharpness, then either I've got a Friday afternoon lens or it was a lens made for ordinary Joe public. _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. It's not so bad as a large Asda will dev & scan to CD with index of thumbnails for £3 and do this usually 45-60min while you shop _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. I have just replaced the lenses in my FD adapter and pic below was taken with my Tokina 28-70 FD, close focus, not too bad at this distance, but deteriorates dramatically at long range.

This one was taken with the Zeiss lens in my previous post. Out of the two in this pic, I much prefer the Tokina than the Canon, despite the damage that can be seen on the filter ring. I must remove that dent one day.

Really? So I can treat myself to a MF camera and lenses? Or will Asda/Tesco/whomever not understand that type of fillum?
I use the T word as our local Asda is only a little 'un bereft of such facilities.

Most of my shots posted here (and on other forums) are mainly Asda or previously Tesco....the important thing is development, so get a good supermarket then with a final touch up in Photoshop if necessary, and it's good enough for at least 6X4" print or a computer screen.
The worst film machine operator was with Morrisons dev for 99p, but the negs were developed OK but erm sludge in the chemicals or the neg was dragged across the floor:-
After rewashing and further touch up in Photoshop
Tak 35mm f3.5 MTL3
