I had a BCA, excellent camera, only problem is shutter often fails or they get some electronic fault, quality control was not good, but get a working one and they are very nice cameras, all the PB mount optics are good too, I have a full set.

I'm jealous actually as the BCX I just bought cheap is not in working condition, shutter will only fire in Auto mode, a common fault with these...

Yes, I dreamed of owning one 25 years ago too!

I still think the all-black BC Prakticas are the prettiest of all SLRs...

I like Praktica BC, Nikon and Olympus OM as well. To me Nikon FA is the TOP one.

I used a B-series system for professional work (publication and corporate work) for many years, I still use it at times, and the results have always been more than satisfactory; even got the other Nikon- or Canon-toting photographers envious.

No, but I should definitely buy an adapter! I also have my two original zooms, a 35-70mm Sigma and an 80-200mm Pentacon (made in Japan).

Are you using PB lenses on Nex?

I have Pentacon 50mm f1.8 from long time ago, but only for one basic lens I didn't buy adapter yet.

Now I have a Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm f.4 lens too I guess time to buy an adapter Wink

Bought this lot for £18 at a boot sale, but have to keep the winder on as sometimes using the wind on lever it jams the camera (might just need a CLA). It's a nice camera but can't think of anything special about it other than on auto and shooting in very low light the shutter opens for about 30 secs.

Mint Hanimex mirror 500mm (all other lenses are mint as well)......I sold it cheap for £18 (postage paid) to a member on another forum explaining I can't get a decent sharp picture and he is welcome to see if he can get better results.

***Sigma 24mm? Good haul! ***

No just the Sigma 28mm mini wide...The best lens there was the CZJ 28mm f2.8 which I have posted in the "best of lenses" thread.

I have a fairly complete PB mount collection:

Prakticar 35-70 (Sigma)
Prakticar 80-200 (Sigma)
Prakticar 2.8/135 (Sigma)
Prakticar 1.8/50 (Sigma?)
Pentacon 2.8/28
Pentacon 1.8/50
Pentacon 2.8/135

Just need to add the Zeiss 3.5/135 and the other Zeiss PB lenses then I have them all I think.

I also have additional copies of the 2.8/28 and 1.8/50 Pentacons but I converted them to EOS mount. I don't want to convert my other PB mount lenses hence I want a PB body to be able to use them.

I have two coipes of the Sigma 35-70, both in excellent condition, if you want one of them Attila you can have it.

BTW, the PB mount is physically identical to the Pentax PK mount apart from one tiny difference - the flanges on the lugs are 0.6mm thicker on the PB mount lenses. With a little filing you can make PB mount lenses fit Pentax bodies. Not sure about putting PK mount lenses on PB bodies, they will fit and will go on but I'm not so sure they will come off again very easily, if someone has a PB body and PK lens and wants to try...

Bah, I'll just post it to you if you like, you can buy me a beer in Budapest sometime in the future, I will bring my PB setup and some film...

Oh, forgot I have two more PB lenses:

Pentacon 2.4/50 pancake
Prakticar 70-210 made by Sigma, I think the 80-200 I also have may be a Tokina.

Not had a holiday in 2+ years so I hope to get a couple of days holiday later this year, hopefully before the winter, although I am sure Budapest is also lovely in the winter!

Send me the address via PM and I will pop it in the post. I don't know anything about the performance of this lens, never used it, it is very small though, same size as a Helios 44-2 so if the IQ is good, it is an interesting alternative for 'walking around shooting' to a 50mm lens.

Graham,

Seems like my kit was (and still is) a bit more comprehensive, here are my lenses:

Zeiss 20/2.8 (long gone)
Pentacon 28/2.8
Zeiss 35/2.4
Zeiss 50/1.4, 50/1.8
Pentacon 50/1.8 (different versions), 50/2.4
Zeiss 80/1.8
Zeiss 135/3.5
Pentacon 135/2.8
Zeiss 300/4

Still having good times here.

Ian, you'll be pleased to know that the range was much larger than the lenses we have, even combined Wink

Seele - that's a great list! You were very lucky having the 20/2.8 Flek in PB mount! And that 80/1.8 Pancolar must be a cracker Very Happy

I believe Koji has all of the PB lenses...incredible.

Interesting Graham, I had no idea there were so many PB mount lenses, some of them must be very uncommon as I have never seen them!
