I have this dilemma (roughly same price) .What do you think? Never had a vivitar until now , practically addicted to Konica glass , so I am biased .but... Laughing

I just own the Viv but am very pleased. Even wide open still usable. The coating is not very flare resistant, so if you do not like flares (veiling flare and ghostings) with backlight you should go for the Hex

Top Vivitar lenses like this one are good really, I had 28mm f1.9 it was usable even at wide open. With SONY NEX-3 fast lenses are not a constrain even at low light due it has HIGH ISO capability, one stop less or more no matter in my opinion. I didn't have VIVITAR 35mm f1.9 so I can't say how good it is. I have almost all Hexanon lenses including this one, I didn't try it at wide open I guess at least good as than VIVITAR.

I guess this is wide open due made at low light environment.

For use on the NEX, I would take the Konica, because it is more compact than the Viv.
