Just ONE? Now that is difficult.....

Let's see, I own crop, FF and mirrorless bodies, so it is only logical to choose one lens for each system. I guess...

For my Canon 5D, I would choose the Zuiko MC 35-70mm f/3.6 since it is a wonderful lens that feels the gap nicely between an Ultra-Wideangle (like a 19-35 or 17-40) and a telephoto (like 70-200 or 70-300).

For my Olympus DSLR, Ι would probably choose the Zuiko MC 135mm f/2.8 because it offers very good telephoto power (270mm) with bright aperture in a compact package. Very useful for concerts, street portraits and general telephoto work.

For my m4/3 body, the choice is easy. Jupiter-8 50mm f/2. Not the sharpest wide open, but small, bright and sweet color rendering make it one of my favorite lenses for portraits.

the S-M-C 1.4/50 which had cost me 10 usd ;.-)

if money was no issue it's getting more difficult: Zeiss Distagon 1.4/35, though there is at least a handful which I would want just as much ( f1.2 normal lenses, some Pentax ltd. and * lenses, Zeiss lenses..)

On my 5D.......

Tamron SP 35-80mm (01A). Versatile lens with good IQ and macro capability.

difficult to find someone who could live with 1 lens on MFlenses

for 24x36: I´d pick some 28mm lens - in my case Olympus OM 28/2 (or Distagon 28/2 if I had the money). OM 40/2 might be the second choice.

for 6X6: I live with standart 80mm lens on TLR - and it´s enough. better will be something bit wider, but I really don´t have spare few thousand euro for Rolleiflex Wide:)

I presumed this was a wish for a lens we didn't have...if we were allowed just one lens full stop, then it would be the Planar 50/1.4 Smile

PostPosted: Tue Jun 07, 2011 1:33 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I guess a Zeiss Makro-Planar 50/2 or Distagon 35/1.4.

I hate zooms so none of those...

If this is for lenses we already own - Petri CC Auto 1.8/55, cost me 99p.

I'm going to cheat - Pentax 250-600/5.6 ......but I promise to keep it in MF Wink

From those I own already I just love my new (to me) Voigtlander Colour Ultron 50/1.8

Yeah, good idea. I am very close to choose the same one.
Bit I think it would rather be one of those:

Leica Summicron 2/50
Nikkor-H 1.8/85
Nikkor-S.C 1.2/55

Probably the Nikkor 1.2/55.

Pentax A* 85/1.4, for my K10D.

Contax Distagon T* 35/1.4 for my 5DII.

Am i allowed to get also a Pentax-to-EOS ring and a Leitax replacement mount for the Distagon Wink ?

+1 lol

There are at least 5 50s and 3 135s I would want with me!

I'm with Carsten, living with one lens would be doable. From those I have or have had, probably the Flektogon 35/2.4. A runner up might be the Nikkor 24/2.8. Both on a crop body, for full frame I'd use slightly longer lenses.

That's hilarious! Laughing
One lens on this board is like one pair of shoes for Paris Hilton or one Prostitute for Berlusconi Razz

(Anyone else want to try and get Hilton and Berlusconi together in a sentence?)

Wish for, like you can have one lens for free then Leica Noctilux-m 50/0.95 Then I would sell it and use the money to buy a small island ind the pacific and there should still be some left for cheaper MF gear like my favorite Zeiss Flektogon MC 35/2.4 Very Happy
