It's common news that the new firmware update for the 3 and 5 will include new picture effects inherited from the new 3c but apparently a leaked firmware has revealed that the nex-3 and 5 will also gain focus peaking! If you don't know what that is it basically means the area of the image in focus will show up in a highlighted colour, almost like highlight clipping warnings you get on the lcd but instead of indicating burt out areas it will indicate what part of the image is in focus.
The benefit is you don't have to zoom in on liveview to get accurate focus and obviously focusing becomes much much faster, possibly as fast as can be achieved with a manual lens with the possible exception of a rangefinder!
This could greatly increase the ability to capture tricky and moving subjects with manual lenses and even with static subjects it makes the process of taking a photo much smoother and more fluid.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this news turns out to be true![/u]

you can change the colour of it as well to red, yellow and blue i think it was so it can help in different light.
Hence why i have purchased an NEX now before the prices go up
