Hi folks
No idea who made this lens, it's a K-mount so might be a Chinon.
It's by far the smallest 135 I've seen, not much larger than a Helios-44 58mm.
These shots are pretty boring and similar to a lot of other test shots I've taken recently, but i think they convey a good sense of this lens' abilities. It seems faster than 3.5 and colours are very vivid to my eyes, I think it's sharp and got good contrast, I like this lens, it's not as good as my two 1960s Petri lenses but it's not bad at all to my eyes...

My usual wide open sharpness subject:

Infinity test, even though it's mounted on my EOS using a Big-!s PK-EOS adapter it obviously does hit infinity. I can heartily recommend Big Is adapter, I have a dozen now and they are all great quality, solid chromed brass, I have Nikon, PK, OM, C/Y, M42, PB, M39 adapters to fit my EOS, all work great.
Bokeh test, wide open, bokeh seems smooth and not distracting:
Close-up test, focus is a bit off:
Contrast test, not long before sunset so sun low in sky to right of frame:

Nice lens. I have two samples. Focusing lubrication problem as with all lenses of this COSINA line. It works for you well it can be seen. _________________ ---------------------------------

That's the one, heard bad things about Cosina but this one seems pretty good.
I deliberately bought a K mount lens so I can use it with my Pentax MG, I also have a Pentax-M 2/50, a Vivitar/Komine 2.8/28 and a couple of zooms. I can use them all on my EOS DSLR as well as I have an adapter. I'll probably pick up some more K mount lenses when I see good ones cheap. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Doesn't the aperture open lever hit the mirror?
Cosina primes are fine, there are few questionable cheap zooms. Talking about cheapo period. Lenses were good in early days and are even better after merging with Voigtländer. _________________ ---------------------------------

No, it misses the mirror. The plastic projection at the rear did hit the mirror however so I cut it off. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

I have problem with many PK lenses on 5DmkII. I don't wan't to open or alter nice pieces like COSINA 2/28mm or Pentax-M SMC 2/35mm. In fact i miss K10D (Samsung variant) so much i will probably buy used one for the third time. Made 175.000 shots with first camera ! Since i know the buyer i also know it's still working going well over 200.000. _________________ ---------------------------------

I agree, modifying nice lenses is not something I like either, but this Petri was a cheap one and I took the risk.
Not tried it on my Pentax to see if it still works fine on a K mount camera... _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |
