Hello everyone.
My name is Alan and I live in Lincolnshire UK.
I have a Canon 450D and in addition to my autofocus lenses. I have a number of FD lenses, which I occasionally use with an EOS-FD adapter. However, despite the fact the adapter does have glass, it still will not focus to infinity satisfactorily and is only any good for use with my 100mm FD macro lens.
! would now like to try some of the M42 prime lenses and was wondering which adapter would be best for infinity focus with, for example a 50mm f2.8 lens, (not yet purchased).
There are quite a lot of adapters available on internet auction sites, both chipped and unchipped. Any advice from you guys, or links to information would be very much appreciated.

With FD to EOS adapter, lens cannot focus to infinity because adapter holds lens too far away from sensor. Some FD-EOS adapters have lens elements that permit infinity focus but degrade image quality much the same as a teleconverter degrades IQ.
With M42-EOS adapters, lenses can focus infinity no problem because the adapter holds the lens the correct distance from the sensor. AFAIK all M42-EOS adapters permit infinity focus.
Some M42 adapters have a flange that depresses the lens diaphragm pin -- these are useful for adapting M42 lenses without an A/M (auto/manual diaphragm) switch, to permit diaphragm operation, otherwise lens aperture is wide open always. _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮
