Hi folks

Went to visit some friends last weekend, took my EOS with me (it goes most places with me!) and shot some indoor candid portraits with my favourite lens - my Petri CC Auto 1.8/55.

Played around a little with the shots in PP, turned them to BW then upped the contrast, did a little bit of blurring of the backgrounds.

Quite happy with these shots, came out quite atmospheric I think.

Maybe this shot works better as a grainy crop:

Sepia tinted this one, might be my fave of the bunch:

Nice. Second doesn't work better as a crop for me. I like the chap in the background with his hand on his forehead. Your fav of the bunch works well too.

Thankyou. Chap in background is same chap pictured in the last two shots.

They seem very noisy and the 1st is quite soft (I think it's back focused). I don't mind film grain but I find digi noise unpleasant. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

The cam was set to ISO100, I have noticed that my EOS 10D creates a lot of noise if you underexpose as with that first shot, also, it's a bit out of focus, look at his shirt collar, that's in focus but his face isn't, but I felt this soft look worked okay for that shot.

Technically, the pics have issues, but I like the overall effect achieved.
